Hi and welcome to my page! My name is Jen and I am a LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor). I have 11 years of experience as a therapist. I work daily to connect and walk beside my clients to assist them in identifying how to better manage the daily struggles in life, including stress management, coping skills to help lessen the burden of anxiety, and depression. I love grief therapy and helping my clients learn how to live with the loss, while still keeping their memories of them intact.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first therapy session with me, you will receive warmth, togetherness, and feel that you have someone to listen to you. We will discuss why you are wanting therapy and will discuss a plan together for your change and growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are my warmth, my ability to listen and understand and with 11 years of experience, I bring a plethora of knowledge and experience to better assist you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I really enjoy working with people who are ready to improve their mental health but don't currently have the tools to do so. I enjoy seeing the growth in them as we go! I look forward to working with people who just need that extra person in their life to listen and help guide them to growth and change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for 11 years with my clients. I begin by understanding my client's issues, including their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I collaborate with my clients to set specific goals. I assist my client in understanding CBT principles helping them understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I assist them with identifying and recording their negative thoughts. We work on challenging their negative thoughts and reframing them into more balanced and positive ones.

Attachment-based

I use attachment-based techniques to assist individuals in finding attachment and helping children feel attachment after trauma.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use Person Centered theory to assist my clients in leading the session and discussing the areas that concern them the most.

Grief Therapy

I use grief therapy to assist clients in processing their grief.
