I have worked in the mental and behavioral health field for 20 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia and South Carolina. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I believe that achieving & maintaining mental health is as important as maintaining one’s physical health. I will partner with you on your road to self-improvement, self-discovery, & personal empowerment. I enjoy working with clients who are willing to make the commitment to themselves to do the work necessary to implement change.
During our first session we will work together to identify why you choose this particular time in your life to begin (or return) to the therapy. I will gather background information on what challenges you have faced and/or are facing, what approaches you have taken in addressing these challenges, and how successful these actions have been in helping you address your needs. We will work together to identify your most significant areas of concern and discuss potential paths we can explore to help you gain a resolution to your concerns. You will also have the opportunity to express your desired outcome from participating in therapy.
The therapy process is a collaborative one. Together we will identify your needs, establish treatment goals, and work to establish new, healthy thought processes and behaviors.
I enjoy working with clients who are willing to make the commitment to themselves to do the work necessary to implement change. My areas of expertise include: mood disorders (depression/anxiety), psychosis (thought disorders), personality disorders, trauma/PTSD, & substance use disorders. I am experienced in working with military veterans. I also specialize in working with individuals who are a part of the criminal justice system on both the juvenile and adult levels.
I do not believe that a client has to be in therapy for an indefinite period of time. In some instances, meaningful changes can be made in a shorter period of time. It is my job to equip you with the necessary skills to allow you to thrive in your life while minimizing the amount of time you remain in treatment. The therapy process is a collaborative one. Together we will identify your needs, establish treatment goals, and work to establish new, healthy thought processes and behaviors. I take a personalized, holistic approach to care by blending techniques from multiple modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-focused models. My flexibility in treatment planning allows me to meet clients where they are—whether in outpatient therapy, justice system settings, or crisis care environments. I emphasize adaptability, clinical insight, and cultural responsiveness throughout the therapeutic journey.
I incorporate SFBT to encourage motivation and forward movement, especially in short-term and goal-driven therapy. By helping clients identify their strengths, resources, and desired outcomes, I am able to cultivate self-efficacy and rapid insight. This is particularly useful in EAP, school-based, and justice system programs where time-sensitive interventions are essential.
Informed by attachment theory, I support clients in rebuilding secure relational bonds. Whether working with children, families, or trauma survivors, I create emotionally safe environments that encourage vulnerability and connection. My approach fosters healthier relationships and deeper self-awareness, especially for those recovering from early adversity or disrupted caregiving.
I utilize DBT to support clients struggling with emotional dysregulation, trauma responses, and interpersonal difficulties. DBT-informed interventions to improve emotional regulation, develop healthy coping strategies. I apply core DBT skills—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—in both individual therapy and group work, empowering clients to break cycles of crisis and build sustainable behavioral patterns.
I use ACT principles to help clients accept difficult emotions without judgment, clarify their personal values, and commit to meaningful action. My work supports clients in increasing their psychological flexibility — empowering them to lead more fulfilling lives, even amid ongoing challenges. This approach is particularly helpful in trauma recovery, identity development, and long-term behavior change.
