Hi there, I'm Jessyca. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 5 years experience. I help and specialize in working with children, teens, young adults, and families with communication, anxiety, depression, behavior management, and more! As much as I love to talk to individuals about how they are feeling, I am motivated and passionate about being interactive with clients when processing their thoughts and feelings. I also have a fun option for teens. Mindful Culinary Therapy is dedicated to making the healing power of cooking safe and accessible. At MCT, I love empowering youth to discover and harness their own creativity through food. For many of us, it is hard to open up to strangers and express serious traumatic or even simple issues that we face daily, but what happens when we keep our minds busy, our hearts open., and stomachs full? Being able to express your thoughts and emotions in a more relaxed, creative, fun, and inspiring environment, gives a person more freedom to be able to become more vulnerable, comfortable, and at peace within themselves. During our first session, we will build rapport and complete an initial intake to get more insight on your background, past history, and current issues.
I have worked with children, teens, young adults, and families for over 5 years. I specialize in working with at-risk youth that are involved with substance use and/or negative behaviors. I have also worked with families that struggle with trust and communication. I utilize trauma-informed practice to focus on your past, and identify the strengths that you have built for yourself till this day. I use person-centered approach because I believe the client is always the expert in the sessions. Together, we will explore your fears, worries, and doubts, but you will identify your strength, passion, motivation, and skills.
I have over 5 years experience working with children, teens, young adults, and Families.
