Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida. I received my Masters from the Simmons College in Boston, MA and have been practicing for 23 years. I help young adults struggling with anxiety, depression and relationship problems. I have also worked with individuals who have struggles with disordered eating and substance use as a way to cooeso as to become the best versions of themselves.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. In order for me to be the most effective in my role of working with you, I will need to understand your needs and preferences as we work together towards your goals.
Having worked with people for the past 23 years, I've developed many strategies for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I love working with adults who may have tried therapy in the past and struggled to see change in their lives. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make their goals a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their lives and relationships.
Through the application of Motivational Interviewing, I engage patients in open-ended conversations, empowering them to discover their intrinsic motivation for change. This approach fosters a collaborative atmosphere, where patients feel supported in exploring and resolving their ambivalence toward behavioral change.
Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I guide patients in identifying and challenging distorted thinking patterns and maladaptive behaviors, aiming to replace them with healthier thoughts and actions. This modality is applied through structured sessions, where patients learn practical skills for dealing with everyday challenges, thereby improving their mental health and well-being.
In employing Dialectical Behavior Therapy, I assist patients in learning and applying core skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT focuses on a balance between acceptance and change, equipping patients with the tools to manage emotional distress and enhance their relationships.
During couples counseling, I create a safe and neutral space for partners to communicate openly and honestly, aiming to understand and address the root causes of their conflicts. Through guided discussions and conflict resolution strategies, couples are encouraged to rebuild trust, enhance their emotional connection, and develop healthier communication patterns.
