Hi, my name is Hannah. As an experienced Geriatric Therapist focused on anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions and caregiver burnout, I believe that you are more than your fears. There is life to be lived outside of your mind and I want to help you experience it . You don’t have to continue feeling disconnected, alone and anxious. I am proud of you for taking the first step towards taking care of yourself. Therapy can offer you deeper insight into yourself and a safe space to share your thoughts, feelings and fears. I want you to feel confident in learning skills to manage your emotions and increase your satisfaction in life. If you are ready to make a change I am here to support you each step of the way!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Your first appointment will be a clinical assessment. During this session, I’ll ask you questions to get to know you better, learn more about what is bothering you, and share with you how I can help you reach your goals. You can decide if you want to meet weekly or every other week depending on your needs and goals. Every aspect of your care will be personalized to meet your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I focus on the whole person; mind, body and soul. I help seniors identify what is keeping them stuck and teach them skills that empower them to make changes. I help seniors discover joy and purpose in life again. I’ve been told by clients that I am warm, authentic & empowering. Clients have shared that they’ve found me to be relatable, kind, understanding, and a source of comfort & encouragement throughout our work together. I am solution focused and provide tools for clients to work with. I have so much respect and admiration for the seniors who have invited me into their lives and allowed me to join them on their path to growth & healing.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Do you find yourself gripped by anxiety and worry, no matter what you do? Is it getting harder to manage the ups and downs of life? Are you grieving the death of a loved one or a big life transition? You are not alone, aging is hard. You may be fed up with missing out on the things you enjoy , feeling unseen, fearful, overwhelmed or down all the time. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to experience joy again and have peace of mind . You’re ready to discover your new purpose. Most of all, you’re ready to step into this next season of life with confidence .

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is understanding the connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviors and how they impact one another. I use CBT to help you recognize your assumptions, beliefs and self-criticism to reduce worry and anxious thinking; giving you peace of mind.

Grief Therapy

Grief can be the loss of a loved one. You may feel like no one understands what you are going through. You may feel lonely, sad and hopeless. I use grief therapy to unpack your sadness and process your loss in order to move towards healing. Grief can also be the loss of a dream "what should have been", the loss of a physical or mental ability or the loss that comes from a big life event like retirement. I use grief therapy to identify the loss and process the hurt in order to move forward. I help you identify ways to cope with difficult emotions and express them in a healthy way. I want you to feel supported and safe to grieve.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness practices encourage you to notice your thoughts and what is going on inside your body when you think or feel something. I work with you to increase your awareness of the whole body connection. Using mindfulness reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression. I want you to learn how to live in the moment and find greater enjoyment in your life.

Motivational Interviewing

I have used this treatment method for over 10 years to meet clients where they are with compassion and non-judgement. I will use motivational interviewing to identify your goals and what might be in the way of achieving them. I work to validate and empower you as you move one step at a time towards your goals.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use solution focused brief treatment for clients who have one or two specific problems they want to solve. I work with you to identify the problem and come up with solutions that fit your needs. I will work at your pace and we will set realistic and achievable goals. Research has shown that this treatment method is very effective specifically for people 55 and over.
