Hello and thanks for looking at my profile! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an R, which mean I did 6-years post-Master's experience under the supervision of an LCSW, and I can bill under Medicare and Medicaid. I attended New York University and received my MSW degree in 1992. I have 34 years of experience in many different disciplines. I have supervised students in social work internships and social workers in NY obtaining their clinical licensure. I have worked with people across the lifespan. For 18 years, I was a college Adjunct Professor at Fordham University and CUNY. so I work well with college-aged adults too.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients will have the opportunity to discuss what brought them to treatment. I will begin to work to build trust and support clients by explaining the platform, tools I like to use, and review what they are looking for to enhance their therapeutic experience.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have 34 years of experience across the lifespan with many different diagnoses. I think I work hard to have the client do the work to learn the tools to get better, so they do not become reliant on the therapist for this. I have been known to create a safe space for my clients respecting all of the values of social work and the Code of Ethics.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My love for empowering others to help themselves is what brings me back to therapy again and again. I believe that rapport and trustworthiness is what helps bring a therapeutic relationship to fruition. My dream clients are people with neurodiversity, grief issues, complicated grief, intellectual and physical disabilities, anxiety/stress, and LGBTQAI+, and depression. I also love to do couples counseling.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I use attachment-based therapy in couples counseling to help individuals understand their attachment styles and the way it impacts their current relationship.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy since I was certified in 2006 and I find it helpful in treatment of anxiety, depression, and perfectionism.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I also use CBT for insomnia, and you can refer to the above information

Couples Counseling

I have been doing couples counseling since 2018 and continue to do it on an alternate platform. I work to help couples understand their current dynamics within the relationship and choose whether or not to use Solution-Focused Therapy as the main form of treatment.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I was previously a social work professor for 18 years and I have taught a class on cultural sensitivity, and have used it in sessions with clients from all around the work on another Platform, which has further enriched my knowledge
