About me

I am a self-aware and open-minded human service professional. My love for helping people is supported by decades of experience in various professional clinical roles. To share a few more qualities, I am patient, empathic, possess good listening and communication skills. I offer supportive and informed counseling while teaching and guiding you on a path of empowerment, self-love and emotional wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a time to get to know you and work on establishing a therapeutic alliance. For the duration of the session, I give you my undivided attention and really listen to hear you, your story and how that correlates to your presenting issue. This is also a time to ask questions, verbalize any expectations in working with me as well as any goals that you may have and/or where you want your life to be six months or a year from now. I may briefly provide psychoeducation on interventions and strategies you can use to achieve your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have over 17 years of experience helping individuals with a variety of mental health and life issues and from various socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and races. Among the disorders clinically addressed were anxiety, depression, substance use issues, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, domestic violence and trauma. I also have a CCTP certification. Moreover, everyone is different, so I utilize strategies that are a good-fit for each individual client. As one approach may not work for all disorders, a multifaceted approach and /or intervention may be utilized or recommended. As a clinician, I am knowledgeable in evidenced-based practices as I seek to achieve positive outcomes in treatment. I have received training in various counseling techniques and therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Person-Centered.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is looking for a safe space, to be heard and validated as they embark on a journey of healing, self-love, discovery and growth. I support autonomy and individuality, and I my goal is to empower my client to improve their overall well-being - be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. I am looking for any individual who struggles with anxiety, low self-esteem, are lacking the confidence to step out of their circle of comfort and move forward in life because they are living in the past, paralyzed by fear, dysfunctional thinking and/or family dysfunction - past or present.
