I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have worked with a wide variety of clients in both school and private settings since 1996. My goal is to guide you through your pain and be with you on your journey to finding your strengths, discovering your full potential and experiencing a greater sense of emotional well-being and ease. We will explore what holds you back and limits you from fulfilling this potential. Whatever you bring to our sessions is what is important and we will work collaboratively to reach your personal goals. I believe you hold all the answers you need. Using a multi-model and integrative approach we will work together to discover a new experience of yourself through curiosity, compassion, mindfulness and body awareness. Everyone's life journey is unique and I am not the expert on you, you are. I want to work together to make your journey the best it can be.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first sessions we are beginning to get to know each other. Our relationship is a mutual one and in this relationship we are both affected. My goal is to have you, as my client, feel heard and your struggles honored from the beginning. We will address your goals, expectations and what you would want to gain from therapy. I will also share a little about how I work. I will welcome your questions as this can be an intimidating experience for any client working with a new therapist.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel psychotherapy is sacred and that my heart-centered approach is one of my strengths, as well as my love for this work. Working through my own struggles, insecurities and darkness has helped me feel empathy for the struggles of others. I feel that my relationship with you is part of your healing and I take it seriously.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with those who are struggling with inner conflict, how they feel about themselves as well as many other issues. We are all unique and complicated beings. I enjoy the process of joining you in your self discovery and your learning to honor all of yourself in the process. Within this experience, symptoms such as depression and anxiety can ease.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

It is my belief and my best practice to not limit my work with one or two treatment methodologies. I choose what comes in the moment, blending modalities to fit your needs at that time. Our inner pain is real to us and I take this seriously. I practice deep listening, compassion and a heart-centered approach to therapy. I bring in mindfulness, spirituality (what this means to you and where it is appropriate), body awareness and sensitivity to what you present. We will set goals and explore how to meet these goals, taking your lead and understanding that all of our needs are different. We can explore your past and what from your past you carry to your present. I believe you are the expert on you and our goal together will be to help you discover your best you.
