I'm an LPC in Colorado and have been practicing for 9 years. I am passionate about creating a safe space for people where they are met with compassion and understanding as they navigate current stressors and build on things that are already working for them. If you are a teen or adult who has experienced trauma, grief, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, depression or anxiety, I offer a safe supportive space. I provide an environment for clients to express and understand themselves using a client-centered approach, along with expressive arts, CBT and solution-focused therapy to help clients reach their goals. My approach is non-judgemental, creative, and empowering. I'm passionate about providing therapeutic support for members of the LBGTQIA+ community. Together we can help you set boundaries, highlight on your strengths and build your supports.
In the first session I really get to know you and your current struggles as well as some background information that influences who you are today. I try to make it as open ended as possible but do have a few specific questions I ask to get to understand your current stressors, supports, people in your life, and history.
I have a very compassionate understanding approach. The most important thing for me is that clients feel heard and understood and that they have a safe space to share anything that comes up so they can better understand themselves and find new ways of relating to themselves.
I work with a lot of clients who identify as LGBTQ+ and offer a safe supportive space. I also have a lot of experience working with clients who have experienced religious trauma, grief, other types of trauma and self-esteem concerns.
I help client understand how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and ways we can improve overall being by identifying unhelpful patterns in these ways of being.
I have experience working with trauma and from my understanding, past trauma can shape current thinking and behaviors. I help clients understand these connections and develop new ways of relating to themselves.
I highlight on things that are already working in your life that we can build on whether that's supportive people, hobbies, or things that are already a support and strength we can build on them.
