I’m Latisha Gee Torres, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, mindfulness teacher, and wellness coach with over 20 years of experience. I help Black women and adult children of emotionally unavailable or addicted caregivers heal from relational trauma, break free from people-pleasing and perfectionism, and reconnect with their authentic selves. My approach blends therapy, coaching, and mindfulness in a compassionate, culturally attuned space where your full story is honored and your healing is prioritized.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming space where they don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or hold anything back. We’ll take time to explore what’s bringing you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and what’s been feeling heavy or unresolved in your life. I’ll ask some gentle questions to understand your story, your strengths, and any patterns you’ve been noticing. Most importantly, it’s a chance for us to begin building a trusting connection—one where you feel seen, heard, and supported as your full self.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a safe, affirming space where clients feel genuinely seen and heard—especially those who are used to holding it all together for everyone else. I bring a deep understanding of the emotional impact of relational trauma, co-dependency, and cultural expectations, especially for Black women and adult children of emotionally unavailable or addicted caregivers. I blend clinical skill with lived experience, mindfulness, and intuitive presence, allowing me to meet clients exactly where they are and support them in moving toward healing, clarity, and self-trust.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I’m best positioned to serve Black women and adult children of emotionally unavailable or addicted caregivers who have spent much of their lives being the strong one—holding it all together while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, or feeling emotionally disconnected. My clients are often tired of just surviving and ready to explore a different way of living—one rooted in self-trust, healthy boundaries, and deeper emotional freedom. They're seeking a therapist who understands the cultural, familial, and personal layers of their story, and who can offer a healing space that’s both affirming and transformative. I specialize in helping clients navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Together, we’ll tap into your inherent strengths and resilience to foster growth and create lasting change. I am committed to empowering you on your journey toward well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and somatic awareness to support long-term healing. I work primarily with Black women and adult children of emotionally unavailable or addicted caregivers, many of whom struggle with perfectionism, people-pleasing, anxiety, and unresolved grief. I use CBT to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, while mindfulness allows us to build present-moment awareness and foster emotional regulation. For clients carrying relational trauma, I incorporate body-based strategies to gently reconnect them with safety in their bodies and deepen their capacity for self-trust. Every session is tailored to the individual’s goals, lived experiences, and cultural context. My goal is to provide a supportive and affirming space where clients not only understand their pain but also learn practical tools to reclaim their voice, set healthy boundaries, and move toward the life they truly want.
