My name is Chris and I've been a therapist since 2009. I've worked with men & women from all backgrounds & faiths including the LGBT community. I'm Biracial, Christian, a Husband, Healer and a big believer in Zen Buddhism. I have a diverse personal and professional background that's helped me serve people from all over. I have experience helping those struggling with trauma, grief & loss, life transitions, depression, anxiety and relational problems (marital/relationship or workplace).

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You'll get answers, support, insight, and a plan. You’ll see that there is a way to understand what's going on and a reason to hope. I’ll spend time learning about you. If a person wants to start off running and just tell me all that's going on, let's do that! If words don't come easily, I can guide things. I'll help you get a sense of who I am, and you'll help me get a sense of what works best for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I can be both challenging and supportive. I can teach, guide, and be a mirror. It all really depends on what you're looking for. I've been on my own professional/personal journey of growth and wellness for over 20 years and I leverage that to make what I do unique.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Those who are wanting to work and make a solid commitment toward themselves. People motivated toward solving today's problems and/or in search for greater self-awareness & insight. A person experiencing therapy for the first time or someone with a longer history who maybe feels stuck. Someone who is motivated to start or feeling hopeless and forced to try. Above all, it's important to understand that consistency is key to recovery of any kind, if you show up I will too!

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment work is used to gain understanding of how you function in relationships. The relationship you have with yourself, others, and the world at large. I use this for clients who are craving more insight and self-awareness.

Strength-Based

We'll focus on what works, and build on that. Therapy does not have to be about focusing on negatives. With Strength-Based work you'll build confidence in yourself and your ability to take on life's challenges.

Somatic

I use this when I help trauma survivors. Somatic work shows us how our thoughts and emotions interact with our physical body in the form of sensations and urges. This is very helpful when trying to disentangle complex emotions that are hard to understand and overcome.

Polyvagal Therapy

I use this in along with Somatic work for those struggling with trauma. Polyvagal teaches us how we can use our biology (the central nervous system) to help us regulate. if you enjoy mindfulness you may really enjoy using Polyvagal techniques. It's all about using our 5 senses to activate the amazing healing power of the central nervous system!
