About me

Growing up as a child, I experienced loss, trauma, and social anxiety that shaped parts of my life and instilled within me a desire to help others. Experiencing feelings of anger, confusion, worry, sadness, and uncertainty, I developed an understanding of the profound impact that trauma had on me and how it sneaks up on you unexpectedly, all while putting up a brave face.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Working with people of all ages, diverse racial backgrounds, various social statuses, and different religions has given me the ability to connect with others. Being sensitive to the needs of others helps me to be aware of what you need and how to respond in a way that will make you feel heard and seen.Working with people of all ages, diverse racial backgrounds, various social statuses, and different religions has given me the ability to connect with others. The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I enjoy working with children (ages 8-12), teens, young adults, and adults. My clients are eager to improve and make changes to improve their quality of life. Sometimes, my clients feel stuck and don't have the necessary tools to move forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am a licensed clinical social worker. I use evidence-based modalities to provide individual therapy to children (10-12), teens, their families, and young adults. I have worked with children, teens, and their families for over ten years. Often, when I meet with children and teens, they feel that their feelings do not matter, making it challenging to identify and express them. This could sometimes mean turning their feelings inward or outward, which can be challenging for them and their families. In my experience as a therapist, I know how important it is for children/teens and their families to learn ways to strengthen their relationships despite the challenges that they have been confronted with. One of my favorite things about working with children/teens and their families is seeing them come together and heal. This experience can also be rewarding for children/teens and their families, as it allows each of you to strengthen and redefine your relationship, learn and identify ways to process your feelings and feel heard and validated. This journey called life can be overwhelming, but by navigating it individually or together as a family, I can help you decrease feelings of embarrassment or shame. I love seeing messes turn into messages!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy as a treatment method because it is evidence-based and teaches individuals ways to disrupt their negative thought patterns that lead to unhealthy thinking. This intervention teaches individuals how to reframe their harmful thought patterns.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

Is your family struggling with navigating changes such as adoption, blending families, divorce, grief and loss, mental health challenges, or trauma? As a parent, are you concerned about your relationship with your child and unsure how to support them? I use approaches such as structural and strategic family therapy interventions to create a safe space for you and your child(ren) to learn and practice new ways to communicate and develop new rituals to strengthen your relationship. I aim to help each member feel heard and learn ways to strengthen their communication and relationships.

Trauma-Focused CBT

It is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention that focuses on identifying the link between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT is grounded in the belief that a person’s perception of events—rather than the events themselves—determines how he or she will feel and act in response.
