My name is Kathryn Vetrano, a therapist for over eight years who specializes in treating both biologically female adolescents and adults of color, dealing with mood disorders, borderline, personality disorder, and depression. I use a dialectical, behavioral approach to treat emotion, dysregulation, harmful coping skills, having trouble navigating relationships, and to cause an increase in quality of life. I work with clients to improve their emotional reactions to real life situations.
Clients can expect to discuss who they are, where they come from, their psychiatric history, and their goals of treatment.
My empathy and compassion; I am able to put myself in a client's shoes and experience emotions with the client without any judgment
I typically work with clients who are from the ages of 13 and older, who feel as though they do not know who they are, and why they are feeling the way they do. A client of mine usually has trouble navigating their emotions, have complications within relationships, and do not have useful coping skills.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Eight years ago, I was formally trained in DBT via the Marsha Linehan's, Bevavioral Tech Program and then was placed on a formal DBT program, working with high risk, adolescence and adults. I have been using DBT skills to work with many different populations of clients over the last eight years. I teach DBT skills so the client is able to implement them in their lives, increasing their quality of life and replacing negative coping skills with productive ones.

I’ve been through a lot of therapists trying to find one who I’m most comfortable with. Kathryn is so warm, so relatable, and she really really listens. She is amazing.

She's been such a Angel in disguise. I have share embarrassing things with her that I can not share with anyone. She has not made me feel shameful at all.
