I am a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about supporting the mental and emotional well-being of others. I have 15 years of counseling experience and 8 years in clinical practice helping youths and adults manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, trauma and other psychological challenges. I have experience in providing individual, couple, family and group therapies to cultural diverse populations.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My duty is to provide a safe, confidential, and genuine space that will aid in your journey towards self-discovery and healing. I believe in the therapeutic alliance, so our first sessions are solely to get familiar with each other and the therapeutic process we will embark on together. I am a channel for change, growth, and healing, but you are the vessel that makes it happen.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is being able to meet my clients where they are in their stage of readiness and helping them reach self-actualization. I enjoy being a guide through all stages of my clients' healing journey and providing them with the life tools they need to navigate and thrive.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I provide treatment care and support to youth and adult clients needing help with Stress Management, Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Trauma, Anger Management, Adjustment Disorder, and Intellectual/Developmental Disorders.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The client has full control of their healing journey and I am just there as a guide to help them navigate life. I provide a safe, non-judgmental and supportive approach to your lived experience. Building a therapeutic alliance were there is trust, unconditional regard and partnership sets the path to true growth in the therapy space. I use active listening, validation and reflection of feelings, open-ended questions and empathy to encourage self-discovery and self-actualization.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I adapt the CBT approach in the therapeutic setting to help many clients identify and change negative thought patterns and develop necessary coping skills. I encourage 'self-work' where I may assign the client to practice something that was explored during the session.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Embracing and engaging in the present is the most meaningful and transformative activity. Mindfulness allows us to use our senses and focus on what we are experiencing in real time. I use Mindfulness techniques such as, Meditation, Relaxation exercises and Awareness exercises to help clients connect better with themselves and the world around them. This practice relieves stress, anxiety and overall well-being so daily practice is encouraged.
