Hi there! I'm Jessica. You might not see availability on my calendar. Don't let that stop you! Reach out to me at jessica@counselingwithjessica.com and I can schedule you! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. If you enjoy authenticity, I'm your counselor! Not so stuffy here, and very much a 'solution finder'. If fact, if it looks like I don't have an opening on my calendar, reach out to me! We will get you in! I have over 20 years of counseling experience and use result-driven skills and a healthy sense of humor to help you grow. I value authenticity, integrity, and transparency in our sessions as I strive to foster trust and positivity to facilitate growth. I am an outside-of-the-box thinker and use various therapeutic modalities to help you achieve your goals, whether it is to reduce anxiety, make healthy choices, set boundaries with others, increase assertiveness or address past unresolved issues. Originally from Charleston, SC and now in Atlanta, GA, I am licensed to practice in both states. Outside of my counseling practice, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, walking, laughing, and learning new things. If we meet and I am not a good fit for you, no worries! I will help you locate a therapist who is more in line with your preferences. And, if you don't see a time or date that work for you, send me a message. We can figure out a time that works. Sound good? Talk soon!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I am going to ask you a lot of questions. I know it can be hard to share private information. My goal is to have an overall understanding of your life from when you were a child to the present moment. I will ask questions about your family, your friends, your relationships, your education, etc. You can choose to not answer a question, after all, we are getting to know one another. I often teach a concept in our first session that I think will be helpful for our follow up sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I have experience in many areas of counseling with adults and older adolescents. My work includes: Substance use disorders, Men's issues, Anxiety, Relationship discernment, Divorce, Parenting, Women's issues, Post Abortion Grief and Trauma and Hypnotherapy for various issues/concerns. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, The Counting Method for discrete trauma and other tools from various theories in psychology.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
