Everyone deserves to feel heard and believed. One of my first goals in working with you will be to discuss how to create a space and relationship where you feel safe and respected while coming up with a plan to meet your unique needs. Therapy with me is not a place where you are given band-aids. While many techniques I employ can help in the immediate, our goal is to find long-lasting change. This may be uncomfortable or difficult at times, but through that discomfort comes deeper understanding and insight, and ultimately a more healed and meaningful existence. Every human being is unique and you deserve to experience therapy that fits your unique needs rather than a one sized fits all approach. I am trained in a variety of evidence based treatment methods including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma informed modalities and will work with you in our sessions to find what works best for you.
No matter what you are working on you will not only be heard in my office, you will be compassionately listened to and believed. Often times when we first seek out care it can be overwhelming, perhaps this your first time seeking out therapy or maybe you have struggled with having your struggles validated. Regardless of what has led you you to therapy in this moment I will honor your lived experiences while working with you to learn about yourself in a deeper way. I have learned how to sit with people experiencing complex emotions, providing a compassionate presence to accompany them through the healing process each step of the way.
I have experience working with a diverse range of communities, all of which have needed a healing space to express and process fear, frustration and shared experiences. My own experiences with Chronic Pain and Chronic Illness have helped me establish a deep understanding of the complex emotions and life circumstances associated with these conditions. You will not only be heard in my office, you will be compassionately listened to and believed.
Are you struggling with deeply painful emotions? You deserve a space where you feel safe being vulnerable to process the challenging and unexpected parts of life. I believe that the best setting for therapy is one that cultivates an environment of authentic care, establishing a trusting relationship where new depth and insight can be reached. I will always meet you where you are in your life and journey, providing you with a trauma-informed approach to healing that works at your own pace.
Psychodynamic treatment methods are therapeutic approaches that focus on uncovering and understanding the unconscious thoughts, emotions, and motivations that influence an individual's behavior and relationships. These methods involve exploring past experiences, often from childhood, to identify how early life experiences shape one's current patterns and beliefs. By gaining insight into these underlying dynamics, clients can work towards resolving inner conflicts, improving self-awareness, and fostering personal growth and change
Trauma-informed care treatments are therapeutic approaches that prioritize understanding and addressing the impact of trauma on individuals' physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. These treatments recognize that trauma can have lasting effects on a person's life and behavior, and they emphasize safety, trust, and empowerment as key principles in the healing process. Practitioners of trauma-informed care create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their trauma experiences, build resilience, and work towards recovery with sensitivity and compassion.
Attachment-based treatments are therapeutic approaches rooted in the understanding of how early attachment experiences between individuals, typically between parents and children, impact emotional and relational well-being throughout life. These treatments aim to explore and repair attachment patterns that may be disrupted or dysfunctional, often resulting from childhood experiences. By fostering secure attachments and addressing attachment-related challenges, these therapies help individuals build healthier relationships and emotional resilience.
Cognitive-behavioral treatments are evidence-based therapeutic approaches that focus on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. These treatments aim to identify and modify negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress and dysfunctional behaviors. By teaching clients how to challenge and reframe unhelpful thoughts, cognitive-behavioral therapies help individuals develop more adaptive coping strategies and achieve positive changes in their mental health and well-being.
