I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee. After completing my training at the University of Florida, I began practicing psychotherapy. My therapy approach includes strength-based counseling, insight-oriented therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I have a specialty in working with people with chronic illness, disability and anxiety disorders. In my free time, I enjoy time with friends, traveling, SCUBA diving and spending time with my dog, Cubby.
In our first session, we'll start with introductions and then I will be interested in hearing what you want to accomplish in our time together.
I enjoy helping my clients seeing how their past experiences inform their current situations so they can move to a happier future without the negative baggage from their past.
I enjoy working with clients who feel they want to grow personally and feel better emotionally. Although I have a specialty in dealing with chronic illness and disability, I have found that anyone who is struggling emotionally fits that definition since our mind and body work together.
I am interested in understanding your past and how it impacts your present so I can help you make your future all you want it to be.
Although I do use cognitive techniques to assist in changing behavior, I also want to help you see how that behavior was formed so you can choose how to change it moving forward.
