(she/her)
Hi, I’m Cam, an LGBTQ-identifying therapist based in New York. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo and have been practicing for the past three years. I specialize in helping adolescents, teens, and young adults navigate their mental health challenges and regain a sense of control and empowerment in their lives. My approach is compassionate, affirming, and tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Together, we’ll work to foster resilience, self-awareness, and the tools you need to thrive!
In our first session together, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive space to begin their therapeutic journey. We’ll start by completing a biopsychosocial assessment together, which helps me understand your history, current challenges, and overall well-being. This collaborative process ensures that I gain a full picture of your experiences and needs. Beyond the assessment, the session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and start building a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and heard while we set the foundation for meaningful work together. Please keep in mind: Clients inactive for 30 days without response will receive a final outreach and be discharged due to inactivity.
As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a therapeutic space that is both approachable and transformative. I bring a sense of humor to sessions, helping to ease tension and make the therapeutic process feel more relatable. I’m also straightforward and no-nonsense, offering honest insights and feedback to help clients confront challenges head-on. My focus on empowerment ensures that clients leave each session feeling heard, supported, and equipped with the tools they need to make meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we’ll navigate your journey with authenticity and purpose.
I enjoy working with women and girls (children and teens) who are navigating anxiety, depression, and the ups and downs of life, whether that means guiding them to advocate for themselves at school, or teaching them new coping skills for a college interview. My ideal clients are curious about themselves and open to growth, but don’t feel like they have to be perfect in the process. I especially connect with people who can bring a sense of humor into therapy. I truly believe that we can hold the hard stuff and still find moments of lightness together. I aim to create a space that feels genuine, supportive, and safe.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective, evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors to promote positive change. In my practice as a therapist, I use CBT to help clients develop self-awareness about how their thoughts, emotions, and actions are interconnected. Together, we work on replacing unhelpful cognitive distortions with balanced, constructive thoughts and implementing practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, or other challenges. Through structured techniques such as thought records, behavioral experiments, and problem-solving exercises, I empower clients to take an active role in their own growth and well-being.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
My approach to therapy is grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, which means I focus less on the past and more on helping you move toward the future you want to create. I believe you already have strengths and resources within you (even if they don’t feel obvious right now) and together we’ll uncover and build on them. Instead of getting stuck in what’s not working, I’ll help you identify small, practical steps that lead to meaningful change. I use thoughtful questions to shift the focus toward solutions, highlight times when things have gone well, and keep our work collaborative and goal-oriented. While I bring hope and encouragement to the process, I also keep it real, acknowledging challenges while helping you see that progress is possible.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a specialized, evidence-based approach designed to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers process and heal from the effects of trauma. In my practice as a therapist, I use TF-CBT to guide clients through a structured framework that includes psychoeducation, relaxation techniques, and cognitive coping strategies. By gradually exploring traumatic memories in a safe and supportive environment, clients learn to reduce distress and reframe negative beliefs about the trauma.
Relational
Relational therapy is a collaborative, insight-oriented approach that emphasizes the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. It focuses on how patterns in our relationships shape emotional experiences, identity, and coping strategies. In our sessions together, we will use the relationship itself as a space to notice, understand, and gently shift longstanding relational patterns. The work is grounded in authenticity, emotional attunement, and mutual respect, with an emphasis on creating a safe and connected experience where deeper change can unfold. Relational therapy is the predominant therapeutic method that I use, as I feel that the relationship is the most important aspect of therapy and the catalyst that brings about the most meaningful change.
