Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Master's degree from Mount Aloysius College in 2021. I have been practicing counseling for 7 years. My specialty is helping individuals struggling with substance abuse disorder as well as individuals struggling mental illness such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and OCD. I strive to help individuals gain insight into their struggles and become the best version of themselves.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions and develop a rapport. Afterwards, we will identify specific challenges you're facing and create a game plan on how to tackle the challenges. This will help me create a plan on what to focus on during follow-up sessions.
Having worked with clients in an inpatient setting for 7 years, I have sharpened my skills in communication, building rapport, open-mindedness, patience, and more. I am easily able to connect with clients and often utilize humor to help build my rapport.
I best serve clients who struggle with mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, personality disorders and/or substance abuse.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized CBT in my years of counseling with substance use disorder and mental illness. I use CBT to help clients change their thinking patterns and to help identify and manage their cognitive disorders and negative core beliefs.
Motivational Interviewing
In addition to CBT, I utilize Motivational Interviewing to help clients find where they are at in their change process and how to find motivation to move forward with change.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I utilize ERP for clients with OCD and other conditions similar to OCD such as Illness Anxiety Disorder.

Even though it was only our first session, and it was mostly a consultation to find more information about me, Alyssa was very patient. She spent more time listening rather than trying to talk over me to move me along in the process.
