Hello.... my name is Christine and I have been a clinical social worker for 24 years. Looking back at my young years, I found myself in helping roles as a child, assisting the elderly, the blind and the marginalized. I seemed to have a calling to the helping professions and was blessed enough to have recognized it. Once I entered higher education, I thrived with like-thinkers and was recognized for my academic achievements and was selected to give the commencement speech to over 5000 graduates representing the School of Social Work. I've served many years in direct practice and progressed into upper management throughout the years. To this day, I still feel rewarded each and everyday doing what I do best! I am a licensed independent clinical social worker with over 13 years of experience working as a clinician, therapist , and crisis interventionist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use problems, psychosis, and ADHD. I also helped people who have experienced trauma or emotional abuse. I would like to clarify my expertise does not include eating disorders, or pornography addiction as of yet, although I do understand some of the symptoms and causes. My therapy style is genuine and solution focused.. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach is dialectal behavioral based with strengths perspective and motivational interviewing. Any treatment plan to meet your needs will be collaborative, timely, and with measurable goals. I have worked extensively in crisis intervention in the agency and on the streets, in hospitals, and in mental health courts and case management agencies, and have managed in this capacity. I also have many years experience related to substance use disorders and have worked as a therapist utilizing primarily Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as my main approach and utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy . Prior to working in Social Services, Dr. Ebony served in the United States Army for eight years and received an Honorable Discharge as a Staff Sergeant stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in the 1st of the 159th Aviation Brigade. After obtaining her Master’s in Social Work (Summa Cum Laude), she began her journey in the Medical Social Work field. For over 12 years, she worked with geriatric clients and adults with complex medical conditions in various settings including, Long Term Care, Hospice, and Home Health. She recently obtained a PhD in Health Administration and Health Care Leadership with honors (Summa Cum Laude) and is committed to increasing access to medically necessary services. In addition to clinical work, she served as a Regional Director of Social Services in the Long Term Care discipline.
