I am a mature and empathetic individual with experience in PTSD, as well as both mood and personality disorders. Non-judgemental and eclectic in my approach. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have experience working with a variety of populations in a variety of settings, ranging from residential/restorative to outpatient. I have 10+ years of experience addressing a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, religious trauma, and relationship challenges. I am interested in working with adults, adolescents, and older children.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Validation, listening, and rapport: the beginning of a trusted therapeutic relationship
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Empathy, rapport and trust, validation (however, not the enabling kind), life exprerience
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Adolescent and adult. Have worked in geriatrics and hospice care. Non-binary clients. Considerable focus on overlap of anxiety and depression in impediments to stable functioning
Trauma Informed Care
Apply trauma informed care to various therapeutic scenarios: attachment, grief/loss, couples' therapy, non-binary sexuality, emotional dysregulation
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use this method to attain emotional regulation. In clinical practice, I have used DBT consistently
Attachment-based
Many, if not all, treatment modalities need to begin with challenges of early attachment
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used CBT with cognitively intact clients from day one; it is a gold standard
Couples Counseling
Have much experience with Couples Counseling, focus on the Gottman Method
