I’ve been committed to the field of social work since I was 18, driven by a lifelong passion for becoming a therapist and creating meaningful change. My dedication is personal—rooted in my own early experiences with mental health care, including one where I felt unseen by a provider who lacked the lived experience necessary to truly understand my perspective. That moment shaped my purpose: to offer therapy that is compassionate, attuned, trauma-informed, and grounded in safety, trust, and genuine human connection. As a neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clinician, I bring both clinical expertise and lived insight to my work. I understand the unique challenges that can arise when navigating identity, marginalization, and systems that don’t always feel inclusive or supportive. My approach centers on creating an affirming, collaborative space where clients feel deeply seen, heard, and empowered to explore their stories. It’s an honor to walk alongside people in their healing—providing support, perspective, and validation as they move through life’s complexities and toward greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, my focus is on building a genuine, safe, and trusting connection with you—right from the start. I know that meeting a new therapist and beginning the intake process can feel vulnerable or overwhelming, so I work intentionally to create an atmosphere where you feel at ease, understood, and supported within the first few minutes of us talking. During this hour-long session, we’ll complete an intake evaluation together, but we’ll do it in a way that feels human and grounded in connection—not like you’re being interviewed or assessed. As we move through this process, you’re always welcome to set the pace and share only what feels right. There is no pressure to disclose anything before you’re ready. A key part of this first meeting is collaboratively establishing treatment goals. I’ll ask about what feels most important to you—what you want relief from, what you hope to understand better, and what you’d like your life to feel like moving forward. Your priorities guide the direction of our work, and together we’ll begin laying the foundation for a plan that supports your needs, values, and long-term wellbeing. While the first session gives us a strong starting point, it’s exactly that—a beginning. We’ll continue to build on everything we discuss in future sessions as trust deepens and clarity grows. And if an hour doesn’t feel like enough time to cover everything, please know you’re not expected to have it all figured out right away; we’ll take it step by step, at a pace that feels safe and sustainable for you. My approach is warm, attuned, and collaborative. I listen closely—not just to your words, but to the emotions and experiences behind them—so we can establish a strong therapeutic alliance quickly and set the stage for meaningful, supportive work together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Social work and social welfare have been meaningful parts of my life from a young age. Having navigated my own challenges, I bring both compassion and a deep sense of purpose to this work. I’m committed to lifelong learning and continually seek out advanced training and professional growth opportunities so I can offer the most effective, informed, and affirming care to every client I support. This dedication allows me to work confidently and competently with a wide range of identities, backgrounds, and presenting concerns. In therapy, I prioritize creating a relaxed, supportive, and collaborative environment where you can feel genuinely safe to explore your experiences. I believe healing happens through authentic connection—often supported by moments of shared understanding, insight, and even laughter. Together, we’ll build a strong therapeutic alliance and develop practical skills and strategies tailored to your goals and needs. Above all, my aim is to make therapy a comfortable, engaging, and empowering part of your life—a space you can look forward to, where you feel seen, supported, and encouraged as you move toward greater well-being, resilience, and self-trust.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who come to therapy with openness, curiosity, and a genuine desire for growth. You don’t need to have anything “figured out”—just a willingness to explore your experiences and engage in meaningful, collaborative conversation. My practice centers on trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, and the complex ways these challenges can shape daily life. I’m especially drawn to supporting individuals who feel stuck in their healing process, and I’m committed to helping you find clarity, movement, and lasting change. When helpful, I incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as an evidence-based, transformative tool to deepen our work. Supporting clients with depression and anxiety is a core part of my practice, and I’m passionate about helping you develop practical, sustainable strategies that ease symptoms and enhance your overall well-being. I also bring a strong commitment to body liberation and would be honored to walk alongside you as you cultivate a more compassionate and authentic relationship with your body. I am especially dedicated to working with the LGBTQ+ community, drawing from lived understanding to support clients through the nuances of identity, safety, and belonging. I also offer a fully sex-positive, judgment-free space for conversations around kink, consensual non-monogamy (CNM), and open relationships. You are welcome to bring your whole self into therapy—your identities, your relationships, your complexities. I’m here to support you with openness, care, and deep respect for your lived experience.
EMDR
I have been using EMDR therapy as a primary treatment modality for six years, always with a deep commitment to safety, pacing, and client choice. While EMDR is well-researched for its effectiveness in treating trauma, I also draw from EMDR-informed protocols to support a wide range of concerns. This allows us to work flexibly and responsively—addressing anxiety, attachment wounds, performance challenges, and other stressors in a way that feels manageable and tailored to your needs. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, meaning we move at a pace that feels safe, collaborative, and empowering for you. Whether we are working through past experiences or addressing present-day patterns, EMDR becomes one of several tools we can use together to support healing, stability, and growth within a supportive therapeutic relationship.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my work because of its strong research foundation and its effectiveness across many different challenges. CBT offers a clear, collaborative framework that helps us gently explore the thoughts and patterns that may be contributing to distress. Together, we work to develop more supportive ways of thinking and coping—at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. This approach can strengthen emotional regulation, build resilience, and support meaningful shifts in daily life. When woven into a trauma-informed, relational foundation, CBT becomes a practical and empowering tool that helps clients gain clarity, confidence, and greater overall well-being.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as an evidence-based intervention to support clients in developing emotional regulation, increasing distress tolerance, and enhancing interpersonal effectiveness. Within the DBT framework, I emphasize the cultivation of mindfulness and the practice of radical acceptance, both of which have demonstrated significant utility in improving clients’ overall psychological functioning and adaptive coping capacities.
