I’m Catherine Taylor, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Chemical Dependency Counselor. I work with adults who are experiencing any of the following: Anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, relationship challenges, career difficulties, and life’s unexpected changes. People often describe me as compassionate, down-to-earth, and direct but very caring. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space while also helping you develop clarity, insight, and real tools for change. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I focus on understanding your story, challenges, and goals. We’ll talk about what’s working, what’s not, and where you’d like to see change. I’ll explain how therapy works, answer any questions, and begin creating a plan tailored to your needs. You can expect a welcoming, non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and feel heard.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are my ability to offer both compassion and clarity. I combine evidence-based therapies—such as CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused methods—with a practical, relatable style. Clients appreciate that I am direct yet caring and supportive. I provide real tools, structure, and insight that help create lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, depressed, dealing with trauma, or simply just want to talk to a neutral person. My ideal clients are ready to explore their inner world, build emotional awareness, and learn practical coping skills. Whether you’re seeking healing, healthier relationships, or personal growth, I provide guidance, accountability, and a safe space to engage and explore.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts affect the way you feel and respond to life. We’ll work together to spot unhelpful patterns and replace them with healthier, more supportive ways of thinking. I’ll offer practical tools you can use right away to ease stress, lift your mood, and navigate life’s changes with more confidence. Each session is focused, supportive, and designed to help you make steady, meaningful progress.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you build practical skills for managing emotions, staying grounded, and improving your relationships. Together, we’ll focus on four key areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication. I’ll guide you in learning tools that help you stay calm during stressful moments, navigate big feelings without becoming overwhelmed, and express your needs more clearly. DBT offers structure, support, and real-life skills you can begin using right away to create more balance and stability in your daily life.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help you uncover your own reasons for change and build confidence in your ability to move forward. Instead of telling you what to do, I’ll work with you to explore what matters most to you, strengthen your motivation, and resolve any mixed feelings that may be holding you back. Through open conversation and supportive guidance, MI helps you clarify your goals, recognize your strengths, and take realistic steps toward the changes you want to make in your life.
