About me

I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia LPC #004120, Louisiana LPC #6832, Texas LPC #85663 and have been in practice for over 25 years. I have earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern State University in 1998 and a Doctorate in Organizational Psychology from Capella University in 2016. In addition to being licensed as a professional counselor, I hold a national certification as a Board Certified Counselor (NCC#224473). I have worked with a variety of clients who are dealing with concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, stress, and many of the things that life throws at us.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we will begin with brief introductions to one another. I am interested in knowing about you, the person, first. Then that helps me to understand you, the client. We will begin identifying the challenges you are facing and how it impacts your life. Then we will begin to discuss the things you would like to accomplish as a result of participating in therapy and how we may achieve that.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds and to tailor my approach for each client to meet their individual needs. I put the client first and see counseling as a partnership between you, the client, and I, the counselor, in which we each bring knowledge and expertise to our meetings in order to identify existing concerns, explore contributing factors, develop goals to improve specified areas in functioning, and implement action plans to reach those goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with individuals who are aware of the concerns they are facing but who struggle with finding ways to overcome the impacts their concerns have in their lives. This client is ready to change, but doesn’t quite know how. They are open to strategies that target problematic behaviors, emotions, and thoughts and are willing to put int he work, both in and out of sessions, to make the changes they want to make.
