New to Grow
In my 18 years of work with clients, I have worked with severely mentally ill populations, the addicted (both inpatient and outpatient settings), grief stricken, trauma affected and those just wanting an improved emotional life. We all have life challenges at some point in our lives, whether at a point of transition or loss, but sometimes just desiring greater self-reflection. I love helping to facilitate adaptations or change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I would like to know who you are, the experiences that have shaped this and who you want to be. Please share your story with me.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have extensive experience with working with addictions and I truely enjoy helping those who have experienced trauma find a safe place and move towards thriving again.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Those willing to tell their story and open to thinking and feeling a different way than when they first walk in the door. We can jointly figure out the rest.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
After we get to know each other, I focus on thoughts (CBT), emotions (EFT), and body sensations (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy). From there, we formulate an approach an some attainable goals uniquely chosen for you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We explore how your thoughts and beliefs affect and interact with the issues you are dealing with.
Somatic
What you feel in your body affects your emotions and ultimately your thoughts as well.
Couples Counseling
I have been trained in the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) that includes psychoeducation and skills-building techniques.
