Hello! I'm Angelica Quick, and I hold a master's degree in counseling. Additionally, I am a National Board Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, I have provided direct counseling, case management, and service coordination for individuals facing mental health challenges and those with intellectual developmental disabilities. My work has involved helping individuals and families access medical, social, and educational services to improve their quality of life. I possess extensive expertise in effective counseling, crisis prevention and management, assessment, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic practices. I enjoy collaborating with individuals, couples, and families, utilizing an eclectic approach that addresses emotional, physical, mental, and social well-being. I offer therapy for marital and relationship issues, family dysfunction, adolescent challenges, and grief recovery. I've worked with clients diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as those striving to overcome substance abuse. I am also open to providing a faith-based approach upon request. My aim as a counselor is not to change you; rather, I want to foster awareness, compassion, understanding, respect, empathy, and acceptance towards yourself and others, helping you to realize your full potential and enhance your coping abilities.

An ideal client is someone eager to make a change. A client who is ready to invest effort can achieve substantial progress. This type of client is not looking for a quick resolution but is dedicated to the therapy process. They are open and receptive to feedback.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify and change thought patterns that have a negative influence on their emotions, behavior, and outcomes. Together, we will identify your patterns of maladaptive thinking. I will help you learn to modify your negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and equip you to replace them with more desirable ones. We will identify strategies and exercises you can employ to make progress toward your goals.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
By using DBT therapy, the clients will learn four core skills mindfulness, acceptance, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness to help manage with difficult feelings and make positive changes.
