New to Grow
I offer a warm, collaborative approach to therapy, drawing from Motivational Interviewing, REBT, mindfulness, and DBT to help you build practical skills for life’s challenges. I believe in meeting you where you are and working together to identify your strengths and create meaningful change. When I’m not in session, I’m at home with my spouse and our two cats, who remind me daily about the importance of presence and self-compassion.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During the first session, we will explore what brought you to treatment and examine your goals. And it is ok if you don’t have your goals figured out. We can do this together. I will ask a lot of questions and you can always decline to answer anything that you aren’t ready to talk about. We can come back to anything if and when you feel ready.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe that everyone is unique and there is no cookie cutter approach to therapy. I am committed to helping you find a better way. I utilize several evidence based therapy strategies.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Sometimes life can get confusing. It is easy to get stuck and finding old ways of coping aren’t effective and may even have negative consequences making matters worse. I am committed to walk beside you while you work on obtaining your treatment goals.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
Unhealthy thought patterns can be detrimental to overall goals and keep one stuck in old patterns. Challenging these thoughts and coming up with a balanced and flexible thought has been a game changer.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
In this busyness of life it can be difficult to just be in the present moment. Often we run on fumes and don’t even focus on unhelpful behaviors or attitudes because we don’t see it. Stopping and utilizing mindfulness and meditation techniques can help slow the pace and give more time in between being triggered and reacting.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Managing emotions can be a full time job. DBT has come up with effective coping in the moment to take the air out of intense emotions.
Motivational Interviewing
I’ve found motivational interviewing helps determine and strengthen overall motivation to change a behavior or attitude that is keeping you from obtaining goals.
