LCSW, 23 years of experience
Hello! I'll get right to the point - these are the main symptoms I work with: 1. REPETITIVE THOUGHTS. i.e. rumination, overthinking, unwanted/intrusive thoughts, mental compulsions, fantasy/maladaptive daydreaming. 2. FEARS. i.e. phobias, irrational fears, existential dread, asking questions like "What if?" and hyperfocusing on the stuff that keeps you up at night. 3. CODEPENDENCY. i.e. people pleasing, inability to say no, fear of upsetting others, lack of assertiveness, chronic feelings of obligation. 4. IDENTITY and PERSONALITY CONCERNS. i.e. poor boundaries, lack of purpose/identity, relationship struggles, career/higher education concerns, depersonalization, wondering, "Is there something wrong with me?" Do any of these describe you or your situation? If so, I'd love to meet you and talk about how we can work together to overcome your struggles. Feel free to browse through my profile and if you feel so inclined, make an appointment so we can work toward restoring balance to your world again.
Finding a therapist is like dating: There has to be chemistry! I want to be matched with the right person too, so I only list specialties in which I am knowledgeable. If you see something listed on my profile, then I have a combination of experience, research, and/or formal training in that specialty. If you do not see it on my profile, then we are not a good match. In our first session, I will spend the first half addressing your concerns, and the second half explaining the methods I use and the rationale behind those methods. I will also answer any questions you have for me.
Like physical therapy, the idea is to achieve "maximum medical improvement." Some symptoms are resolved completely (i.e. go into full remission). Others will never completely go away, but you will become more skilled in managing those symptoms with finesse. Most people spend approximately 3-6 months working with me and then "graduate." Some choose to continue working with me beyond this point on a less frequent basis (i.e. "tune-ups") to maintain any gains they have made. Others choose to continue working with me on a regular basis to address deeper issues (including personality disorders). I draw from a lot of different approaches to find the right combination for you. Some of the methods I frequently use include: -Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) -Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) -Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) -Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) -The Masterson Approach to Personality Disorders
Individual adults only (18+). I do not work with minors or couples. I work best with clients that are willing to hear my honest opinion. Many people go through life not knowing they have a personality disorder. I will let you know if I think you may qualify for a PD diagnosis. Please be sure to complete the Intake Form before our first appointment. Failure to do so will require us to spend our first session completing it together.
I draw from a wide range of therapeutic techniques, selecting the ones that are most effective for a particular individual or situation. (Think of it as a collection of outfits in a closet. The idea is to choose the outfit that works best for the occasion.)
Integrative Therapy goes a step beyond eclectic therapy in that we are not just selecting from various techniques, but we are intentionally blending those techniques together for a compounding effect. (Think of it as maximizing your results. Instead of choosing between a morning cup of coffee and a shot of vitamin B-12, you do both.)
I am a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) with the North American Drama Therapy Association. I rely heavily on Role Theory in my work with issues of identity/self (similar to IFS, but much more robust). I also enjoy using psychodrama for those who want to try something different.
NEW! ERP USING VIRTUAL REALITY (headset required). In addition to ERP, I also use Inference Based CBT, as well as various personality-focused methods to work with you on any obsessive compulsive personality traits you may have, as well as your "feared possible self," a common underlying issue in OCD.
I teach skills for improving time management, motivation and productivity, and emotional regulation. Do you have trouble enforcing or respecting boundaries? I have developed a program that will have you seeing boundaries more clearly in six sessions or less!

Jeniffer really helped me with my OCD and PTSD.. I was struggling with very obsessive thoughts when I met her. I was in a very dark place and she helped me with so many strategies and solutions. She is a great therapist. She listens to ME and knows what she is talking about. I’m thankful for her. She has taught me a lot about myself and the importance of having boundaries in my life which was a game changer for me. She is great and I highly recommend her. God bless her for her amazing work.

This was my first visit and the therapy modality that she introduced seems more empowering than the traditional “tell me how you feel” or “tell me what happened to you” kind of therapy. The way she describes it is like, I’ll be able to see my emotions but not be overpowered by them. I’m hopeful

Jennifer really makes me feel seen and is easy to talk to. I enjoy our conversations and growing with her, I’m looking forward to what the future holds with these things I’m learning. I really appreciate her lessons in boundaries; thank you, Jennifer!
