Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Connecticut, and received my Masters in Social Work from Boston College. I have been in practice since 2011, and have worked with ages birth to 26 in community, school, and office-based settings. A couple highlights in these roles was the privilege of working with parents/caregivers, and supporting young adults in the LGBTQ community. In my private practice, I seek to help adults of all ages navigate life’s challenges by giving light to all that's been pushed to the side, left behind, and holding them back.
Your initial session will be different from future ones; this will be a time for us to become familiar with one another, discuss what brought you to therapy, and develop a plan about how treatment will move forward.
I believe that you are the expert on your life; therapy is your journey, your way. My role is to hold a safe, nonjudgmental space for you and provide support whenever you need to pause, backtrack, or move forward.
If you’re reading this, you have likely found yourself at a pivotal point in your life and in need of real change. Whether you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, unhappy, stuck, hopeless, frustrated, angry, or confused— I will help you uncover the deeper why, leverage your innate power to move beyond hurt and into healing.
As an eclectic therapist, I select the most relevant techniques from evidence-based therapy modalities to effectively tailor treatment to your needs.
Mindfulness-based therapy helps you tune into yourself and attune to those around you. Through guided meditation, breath work and movement, you will find yourself less reactive and more responsive.
Strengths-based practice aims to improve wellbeing through identifying personal, relational, and community strengths that are further built upon and enhanced to support you in overcoming challenges and achieving your goals.
Trauma informed care promotes a sense of safety, empowerment, and healing. Please know that you deserve to tell your story, in your words; to be heard and your personal experiences validated; to be supported in making the most out of your challenges; to persevere and achieve a better you.
Change is hard. Motivational interviewing is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication that is most supportive when ambivalence is high, confidence is low, desire is low, and importance is low. I will help you examine the situation at hand, the options for addressing it, and enact change.
