Lisa Fuechtmann
I am a Master’s level clinician with over 16 years of experience in the field of mental health including working with both children & adults in school & community mental health settings. I founded the school counseling program at Latino Youth High School where I worked with adolescents who were dealing with bullying, family issues, behavioral problems, self harming behavior, & academic issues. My work has ranged from treating anxiety, depression, substance abuse, & marital counseling, hypnotherapy, care giver support, anger issues, & management of chronic mental illnesses. I work from a cognitive behavioral framework & also use psychodynamic techniques.
First session
Clients should expect to be able to jump in and talk about their issues. They will lead the direction of the session. They should expect an empathetic listener who does not typically give "homework".
Strengths
Along with my experience, I feel that my strengths as a provider include being relatable, making clients feel comfortable, and calmy handling emergency situations.
Ideal clients
My dream client is looking for a counselor who takes a causal approach to therapy. Someone who likes to feel like they are venting to a a friend while knowing that professional boundaries are in place. I enjoy working with people doing through life transitions, military service members, veterans, first responders, LGBTQ+, kink friendly, and Pagan clients.

I have used this approach successfully to work with clients experiencing issues related to Biploar disorder as well as dissociative disorders.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I love to meet my client where they are rather than focus on a formal/paperwork based approach. I would say my approach is conversational/
