My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I practice cognitive behavioral therapy which means I help you understand how your thoughts and inner mind chatter impact your behavior, emotions and relationships. In this modality, I help you reconstruct the thoughts that are limiting and help you adapt more positive patterns of thinking. CBT emphasizes what is going on in your current life, rather than what has led up to your current difficulties. A certain amount of information about your history is needed, but the focus is primarily on moving forward in time to develop more effective ways of coping with life and your challenges.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

In this approach, I recognize the importance of a client's cultural background and identity in order to provide effective treatment.

EMDR

Emdr is a great therapy for trauma based disorders. It helps reconstruct and deconstruct stories we adopt via the traumatic experiences. We use a series of interventions to help clients feel less triggered by trauma memories.

Christian Counseling

In Christian counseling a licensed counselor integrates spirituality into traditional counseling methods and psychological principles.
