What are the stressors, what are the protective factors? Also, what are your strengths and challenges? We then collaborate on what it is that you want to change. I have been utilizing CBT for years. It can be very effective in regards to decreasing anxiety and mood dysregulation. I work with clients on recognzing and challenging automatic thoughts that tend to feed anxiety and depression.

Narrative therapy assists clients with reframing their story, creating new scripts, and living in a way that reflects one's goals and values. The client is the expert of their narrative and this can be very empowering.
