I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for over 20 years. CBT is the recommended treatment for a wide range of psychological, emotional and behavioral problems, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, panic attacks, PTSD, social phobia, low self-esteem and relationship problems . CBT works by using proven psychological techniques to identify and change the hard wire connections between negative thoughts, distressing emotions, unhelpful behaviors and physical sensations. The published research evidence demonstrates that CBT is highly effective in the treatment of a wide range of psychological problems and is still recognized as the "Gold Standard" in psychotherapy.
Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) is a highly innovative and creative form of CBT, design to normalize and alleviate emotional distress by improving cognitive, behavioral and emotional flexibility. ACT works by improving psychological flexibility and well-being to alleviate psychological resistance and avoidance.
