I am an LCSW who has been a practicing social worker for 14 years in the medical and community settings. My social work background includes foster care, child welfare, adoption, juvenile justice system, medical social work, case management, and individual, family, and couples therapy. I work with diverse populations and backgrounds. I also have experience working with children with varying behaviors and mental health diagnoses. Throughout my career, I have actively pursued an expansion of knowledge and community resources and an increased understanding of clinical and medical social work. I have an outstanding ability to motivate others, advocate for clients and families, provide emotional support and counseling, and handle crises.
Clients can expect a safe, nurturing, and neutral space in which to explore their thoughts and feelings. As your therapist, I will offer tools and techniques for navigating your thoughts, feelings, emotions, experiences, and relationships. I will provide support and guidance and assist you in making realistic expectations for yourself. I will gather information as to what your goals are in therapy and what you want to get out of our sessions and process.
I use different treatment methods and tools to aid in the efficiency and response to therapy for the client. Psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy, behavior therapy, and cognitive therapy are the most common treatment methods I use with my clients.
As your therapist, I have many strengths to assist you through the therapeutic process. My communication skills play a key role in my relationship with my clients. I can confidently communicate ideas and provide guidance. Patients trust me to listen and provide skilled advice. I focus on leading my clients towards a future where they feel confident and empowered enough to make positive changes for themselves. I’m nurturing in my therapeutic relationships which encourages my clients to feel comfortable being open.
