Life, at times, can present us with extraordinary challenges and circumstances leaving us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, and even hopeless. Emotions from present or past experiences can become so burdensome that we develop unhealthy ways to cope. Symptoms may become so elevated that they affect our ability to function and interrupt family or social relationships. What I provide is an opportunity to process life's difficulties with someone who cares and has the clinical knowledge to assist you with gaining insight and understanding while developing new strategies and coping skills to manage your mental health day by day. I offer primarily CBT therapy with a person-centered trauma-informed focus.
During our first session, we will take the time to get to know each other and establish a comfortable environment for our work together. This initial appointment will focus on understanding your unique experiences, needs, and concerns. Through a thorough assessment process, I aim to gain insight into your goals and the challenges you’re facing. We will discuss your background, any specific issues you would like to address, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. Together, we will begin to outline a treatment plan that targets your most pressing concerns and sets the stage for meaningful progress. I prioritize creating a warm, empathetic atmosphere where you can feel safe to share openly. Your comfort is crucial, and I encourage honest feedback about our connection. If, at any point, you feel that we may not be the right fit, I welcome those conversations. My goal is to ensure you have a positive and productive therapeutic experience.
As a therapist, I believe that the foundation of effective therapy lies in a strong, trusting relationship between the client and the therapist. For clients to make meaningful progress, it's essential that they feel a sense of trust and confidence in the therapeutic process. My greatest strengths include my ability to cultivate a positive and supportive environment where clients can feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. I strive to create a warm, empathetic atmosphere that fosters a genuine therapeutic connection. From our first session, I emphasize the importance of our relationship and invite open dialogue about how you feel regarding our connection. Your comfort and confidence in our work together are paramount. If at any point you feel that we may not be the right fit, I encourage you to share those feelings. I believe in prioritizing your therapeutic experience and would rather facilitate a positive outcome, even if that means recommending another professional.
I have 9 years of experience working with CBT in therapy practice. My practice combines CBT with other treatment modalities including person-centered therapy, psychoanalytic therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and Gottman therapy to address general mental health, relationship challenges and trauma issues.
