I am a compassionate and experienced therapist who believes in the transformative power of therapy. With extensive training in Person-Centered therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care (TIC), I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of my clients. Understanding that no two individuals are alike, I use an eclectic approach to therapy, integrating various modalities to empower clients to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful change. Whether addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, I am committed to helping clients build on their strengths and develop the skills needed for personal growth. I believe that therapy is not just about addressing problems—it's about fostering growth and transformation. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings openly, knowing they are supported and understood. The therapeutic alliance is at the heart of my work, recognizing that a strong, trusting relationship between therapist and client is crucial for healing and change. With me, clients are guided on a journey of self-discovery, equipped with practical tools and insights to navigate life’s challenges. Through collaboration and empowerment, I help clients move towards a future of resilience, fulfillment, and well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the initial therapy session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we begin to build a strong therapeutic relationship. This first session is focused on getting to know each other, discussing the reasons that brought you to therapy, and understanding your unique needs. We'll talk about confidentiality, ensuring that you know your privacy is a top priority and that what we discuss stays between us, with a few legal exceptions that I’ll explain. Together, we'll start to outline a treatment plan, setting clear and achievable goals that will guide our work together. This session is also an opportunity for us to establish rapport, creating a foundation of trust and comfort that will be essential as we move forward in your therapeutic journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With 15 years of experience as both an outpatient therapist and a provider in a partial hospitalization program, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, and adults, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. My strengths as a provider lie in my ability to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. My extensive experience allows me to tailor therapeutic approaches to meet each client's unique needs. I am skilled in utilizing evidence-based practices combined with a person-centered approach that honors each client's individual journey. My commitment to fostering genuine connections and empowering clients to achieve their goals has been central to my work, making me a trusted partner in their healing and growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a structured, short-term therapy that focuses on specific goals. CBT helps clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors, which can lead to changes in emotions and overall well-being. CBT empowers clients to become their own therapists by teaching them skills to manage their mental health. CBT provides clients with practical tools and strategies, such as cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation, that they can use in their daily lives to manage symptoms and improve their mental health. CBT involves a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client, with both working together to understand problems and develop strategies to address them. This partnership can be empowering for clients.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy respects and empowers clients, fosters deep self-exploration, and builds a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship, all of which are essential for promoting personal growth and positive change. This prospective is based on the belief that individuals have the capacity for self-understanding and self-directed growth if provided with the right conditions. Person-Centered Therapy empowers clients by encouraging them to take an active role in their own healing. Person-Centered Therapy prioritizes the client’s perspective and experience, allowing them to explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in a non-judgmental space. This approach helps clients gain greater self-awareness and insight into their problems. By creating a warm, accepting, and empathetic environment, therapists build a strong therapeutic alliance, which is often a key factor in successful outcomes.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care (TIC) provides a framework for understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of trauma in a way that promotes healing and recovery. Trauma-informed care takes a holistic view of the client, considering all aspects of their life, including mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. This comprehensive approach is particularly important for trauma survivors, whose trauma may affect multiple areas of their lives. TIC encourages therapists to work collaboratively with clients, empowering them to take an active role in their healing process. This helps clients regain a sense of control, which is often lost in the experience of trauma.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices and is designed to help clients manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relationships. DBT teaches practical skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills help individuals cope with painful emotions and interpersonal challenges more effectively. DBT balances acceptance with change.
