About me

Hi there, I'm Laura. Do you feel pulled in a million directions and overwhelmed? Are you struggling to keep up with your relationships, work and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I help people heal from trauma, anxiety, and depression. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness, yoga, somatic, and EMDR strategies to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session we will spend some time discussing what brings you in, what your strengths are, and addressing any questions you may have. I realize that therapy can sometimes feel intimidating and I want to create a space of comfort.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have spent several years specializing in trauma studies. I am currently working toward my doctorate in traumatology. I am also a registered Yoga teacher, and enjoy holistic care practices.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that helps people who have experienced traumatic events, such as accidents or abuse, to feel better. In recent years, some therapists have combined EMDR with somatic work, which focuses on how our bodies react to stress and trauma. This combination allows individuals to not only process their painful memories but also to become more aware of their physical sensations and feelings. By doing this, people can learn to release tension and stress stored in their bodies, leading to a greater sense of calm and healing. Together, EMDR and somatic work provide a powerful way to help those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) regain control over their lives and find peace.

I've been seeing Laura for several years now, and the shift has been more than I could've asked for. There are things that I've taken on - i.e. having kids - that I would never have been ok with if not for our work together.
