Hi, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Texas and Colorado. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and my master’s degree in counseling from Prairie View A&M University in 2011. I have been providing therapy and counseling services since 2016, supporting adults through life transitions, relationship challenges (couples work or individual work), burnout, and self-esteem concerns.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, I’ll focus on building a genuine connection and learning more about you—your background, current challenges, and goals. This time together helps me create a personalized plan to guide our future sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have the ability to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, reflect, and feel truly understood—especially during times of change or emotional strain. I work collaboratively to help you navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, and burnout while gently addressing the underlying patterns that impact self-esteem, boundaries, and emotional well-being. With a thoughtful, compassionate, and practical approach, I help you gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and build confidence so you can move forward with greater clarity, balance, and self-trust.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, or ongoing self-esteem struggles that often stem from deeper, unresolved patterns. You may feel emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhelpful dynamics, or disconnected from yourself despite trying to “hold it together.” You’re seeking a supportive, thoughtful space to better understand what’s beneath the surface, develop healthier boundaries, and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we work toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance as you move forward.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for the past six years. I use CBT due its effectiveness in addressing maladaptive thinking patterns that contribute to uncomfortable or negative feelings that promote unhelpful behaviors and reactions. This method is useful for a variety of challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, perfectionism, etc.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) techniques in order to address immediate concerns and any existing challenges for individual and couple's therapy. SFBT focuses on finding practical solutions and emphasizing the client's strengths. Implementing this approach may help the client or clients gain momentum in their therapeutic journey.
Grief Therapy
I approach grief therapy with compassion, patience, and respect for each person’s unique experience of loss. I help clients process grief at their own pace while exploring the emotional, relational, and life changes that often accompany loss. Our work focuses on honoring what has been lost, understanding how grief shows up in daily life, and developing healthy ways to cope and find meaning as you move forward. I strive to create a supportive space where grief can be expressed openly without judgment, allowing healing to unfold naturally over time.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I use a Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) approach to help clients understand and reframe the thoughts and beliefs that may be keeping them stuck in patterns of distress, especially related to trauma, anxiety, or challenging life experiences. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, explore how they impact emotions and behaviors, and work to develop more balanced, realistic perspectives. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you can process experiences, gain insight, and build practical skills to reduce distress and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

I have really enjoyed my time with Martha. From our very first session I felt so comfortable with her. I sometimes feel awkward within transitions in conversation and she does a really job just flowing the conversation and checking in on things we discussed the previous session. She’s been a great fit for me thus far.

I appreciate being heard but also being held accountable for my actions. I appreciate homework to be an active part in my healing.
