Good day! My name is Daniel and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience serving multiple populations including clients struggling through financial hardship, life changes, relationship issues, emotional/ physical abuse/trauma, diagnosis of a serious mental illness in the family, and depression/ anxiety. I graduated from the University of Texas A&M - Commerce and am currently licensed in California, Kentucky, and Texas. I believe the bravest and most fulfilling way to grow is to "do the work" and I look forward to assisting clients in that journey in every way that I can.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients should expect to feel heard and seen in sessions with their therapist without judgment. In our first session, I encourage clients to present their issues or concerns as they see them and work together to develop a strategy that they can own in addressing them. All clients are experts in their own care and I intend to empower clients to make decisions for themselves while viewing all possible perspectives of their situation.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I enjoy working with clients to discover the origins of their behavioral and thought patterns and how they influence their relationships in their families, communities, and activities of daily living. Clients are typically wiser and more resilient than they give themselves credit for and my role is to help clients realize the strength that they have to resolve obstacles in their way and improve their lives.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I look to work with clients in an interactive style of therapy where the client is the expert in their care and the therapist's role is to assist them in reaching their objectives. A successful client/ therapist relationship will leave the client feeling heard, respected, and more confident in their daily life. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. The client takes the lead in therapy and I will modify my approach to meet your needs.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I believe that interrelated beliefs and behaviors influence relationships, families, and every day interactions in the community. Using this model of treatment allows the client to discover incongruent thought and behavioral patterns that prevent them from reaching peace in their life and develop strategies to resolve issues and concerns effectively.

Had a good sense of humor approach. Had a good form of explaining problems and where they stem from.

Brought a lot of insight into our conversation on the first session, which was impressive and made me feel very comfortable. Warm and welcoming. Good at helping you hold up your own mirror to truly speak your thoughts. Already looking forward to speaking with him next.

I don't think one meeting is enough give a proper assessment. However, I can say so far so good. He showed patience as I pointlessly rambled after answering his inquiries. One thing I can say is I would like to receive some kind of acknowledgement of the messages I will probably be sending between sessions. I can't help but to feel anxious about the mess Daniel is about to be dealing with because I have more issues than the New York Times.
