Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing services in Florida and Utah. I received my Masters from the University of Central Florida and have been practicing for 15 years. I'm bilingual English- Spanish, I'm EMDR and Hypnotherapy trained. I enjoy helping adults who may be struggling with the aftermath of trauma or with the challenges of adapting during life transitions. My goal is to assist you to become your best version.
During the first session, we will get to know each other and you will learn about my therapy style, confidentiality, and what to expect from me. I will briefly explain how the therapeutic process works. We will dive into the specific challenges you're facing and identify some of your goals. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with a diverse group of adults, I've developed a unique skillset for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. As your therapist, I will help you interpret the messages your body is sending you, to understand what is happening to you, and to develop new skills to cope more efficiently with life challenges.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
As your couple's therapist I will seek to deeply understand you and your partner in order to support you in implementing strategies and tools to change the way you communicate, as well as shifting unhealthy dynamics in your relationship. I will help you bring forth difficult feelings in a vulnerable way that helps your partner see you better and help you both to develop the necessary skills to resolve conflict and build a more solid emotional connection.
I have been using EMDR since 2022, it is my go to approach to expedite the healing process when there is history of trauma. EMDR has proven to be an effective and rapid method of reprocessing traumatic material. It is used primarily for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder but is also effective in treating other health conditions such as depression, anxiety, addiction and phobias. EMDR appears to assist in the processing of traumatic information resulting in a decrease in trauma symptoms and the development of a more adaptive perspective of the traumatic experience.
DBT is evidence-based. It goes beyond mental health illness and improves individuals’ quality of life. It reduces anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress symptoms and decreases suicidal and self-harming thoughts and behaviors. DBT is helpful Increasing clients’ self-worth and self-respect.
As first generation immigrant, I understand the acculturation process from a personal angle, its beauty and its challenges. I take pride on providing sensitive mental health care that allow my patients to feel respected and understood, providing them a greater sense of safety, security, and trust in my desire and ability to help.
