Hello. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology who has been practicing for 10 years. I have experience with all types of clients, including families, children, and individuals who are looking to understand what they are going through and how to get through it.
Our first session would entail gathering information about who you are as a person and what brought you to therapy. Next, we would create a treatment plan for you that caters to your personal goals and offers you a safe space to land as we begin our journey together.
My greatest strengths as a provider my interpersonal skills and ability to relate to anyone about anything. Those skills are to ensure that you are in the best hands possible, that your voice will be heard and respected, and that you will know that if no one or no place in the world can help you, our therapeutic experience can provide that for you.
CBT is useful for connecting a person's thought's to their emotions and behaviors. Sometimes it's important to know where our emotions come from, and to figure out how we can manage them.
Motivational Interviewing is useful for when someone is struggling with addiction and maladaptive habits. The idea is to move from a place of contemplation to a place of action, and MI is great for accomplishing hard to reach goals in one's life.
A lot of clients come from many different backgrounds and cultures that require a very specific way of doing therapy. By having a multicultural background, cultural competence is a high priority and being informed on what different types of people require in their therapy is absolutely necessary for proper and complete care.
TF-CBT is useful for clients who have experienced complex trauma, and require a type of therapy that can walk them through the process of returning to a state of living again. Systematically, TF-CBT rewrites the narrative that your trauma has written for you, and returns the control back to you.
