In our first session we discuss exactly what happened that inspired them to seek counsel... I create a homework that immediately addresses the issues, that will only take 3-10 minutes, recommend appropriate books, podcast, video etc.
I lean toward using Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCT), meditations that I create specific to a clients particular challenges, the same with visualizations, Buddhist Psychology, Byron Katie techniques (helping people become less codependent and more self empowered), Spiritual psychotherapy, Tapping, humor is a big part to help a person change a perspective, Healing energies with mediations/visualization, healthy diet, exercise & yoga, connecting with nature and I give homework/statements said in each session that resinate with client to take home, read over daily.
My niche is working with people that are "ready" for a change, a shift, in the way they are managing and seeing people, events, experiences and past trauma...move to PostPTSD-Growth.
