My name is Andie Snyder and I’m a licensed clinical social worker with 20+ years of counseling experience and 30+ years of experience as a life coach in the areas of health, wealth, business, dating and relationships. My specialties include stress management, goal achievement, self-love, self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, aging, anxiety, disappointment, trauma and grief and loss. If you are facing challenges in any of these areas, I'd like to help you work through the struggles and offer you a safe place to explore your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgment. I will help you to stretch your comfort zone, increase your resilience to stress and create new patterns that produce healthier outcomes and more life satisfaction. My services are available to new clients in Arizona and Colorado, whether you’re paying privately or through insurance.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. My role is to help you overcome past wounds, break limiting patterns and create a life full of happiness and well-being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Mostly, clients tell me they feel like they have chatted with a friend but realize there has been growth in the conversation. I am here as a trusted partner that you can confide in, but also as someone that will challenge you and help you grow. My style is pretty laid back, yet direct, goal-oriented and solution-focused. I have been described as caring, compassionate, encouraging, empowering and a good listener. I like to focus on supporting you to identify your strengths and expand your resourcefulness in order to overcome any perceived obstacles. I will teach you how to redirect unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns and develop adaptive coping strategies to improve your mood and your quality of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a a structured, practical, and goal-oriented therapy that helps you modify your thoughts and behavior patterns to improve your mood and quality of life. Unlike some other therapeutic modalities, CBT deals with your current problems, rather than focusing on issues from your past. CBT improves emotional regulation and supports you in developing personal coping strategies that can be used in everyday life, even after the treatment has finished.
We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories, using guided eye movements. During EMDR, you attend to emotionally disturbing material in brief sequential doses while simultaneously focusing on a dot moving across the screen. This dual focus of attention provides you a sense of distance from the traumatic material while allowing integration and healing of the stored information. This results in new learning, elimination of emotional distress and development of cognitive insights.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy) is a short-term, goal-oriented, collaborative approach that helps you achieve positive change by focusing on the future and on life without the problem and on what you can do to create positive change. We will focus on your strengths, set specific goals and create practical strategies for achieving them.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is a positive psychotherapy approach that focuses on a person's strengths and internal resources instead of their weaknesses. The goal is to help people build on their best qualities, improve resilience, and develop a more positive outlook. We will focus on identifying your strengths and inner and outer resources and help you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles.

Eclectic

Eclectic therapy is an approach that draws on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques. It is a flexible and multifaceted approach to therapy using a blend of evidenced-based practices, including those listed above as well as other psychodynamic or energy psychology oriented modalities, to overcome what keeps you stuck. Together we will design a tailor made treatment plan. Often there will be assignments in between sessions that will assist you to go from the understanding of new concepts to mastery and will allow you to embody the behavioral changes quicker and more fully. I will assist you to get your life back on track so that you can feel greater levels of happiness and success.
