Hello! My name is Cally Skalko and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. Over the past 25 years working in education and psychology, I have worked in behavioral health community centers, clinics, private practices, hospitals, residential treatment facilities and specialty school programs. I have mentored youth and their families on the Akimel O’odham Reservation, taught students ages K-8 as a public educator, directed and trained teachers in birth through school age childcare facilities, and opened my home and heart to six amazing young people as their foster mom (“auntie/Tia"). Therapy includes a variety of modalities and skills in sessions ranging from REBT, CBT, DBT, Reality Therapy, Substance Use and Addiction Counseling, Trauma Therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy. My passion as a therapist is guiding and supporting my clients toward peace and a holistic life of LOVE. Simply defined by loving themselves, others, and their higher power in a way that manifests healing and lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Generally sessions will begin by creating and developing a treatment plan with some goals. Once created, sessions will focus on discussions, skills building and processing to assist clients toward weekly tasks to achieving their outlined goals. Therapy includes a variety of modalities and skills in sessions ranging from CBT, DBT, mindfulness/breathwork and trauma informed skills and care.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some of my greatest strengths are my openness, kindness and authenticity. I truly strive to individualize my care for each client and their personal needs and goals.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I am very comfortable incorporating Biblical scriptures and prayer into the therapeutic plan and process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a wonderful method to work on changing thoughts and core beliefs that have been long rooted since childhood.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT and it's tools are great methods to work on issues concerning emotional regulation and balancing moods while creating safe and healthy interpersonal relationships.

Multicultural

I love working within a client's culture and beliefs. I find that incorporating ones history and culture will help clients consider their most authentic self when approaching therapy.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Breathwork, mindfulness and meditation are essential practices for learning to incorporate new tools and coping skills.
