LCSW, 35 years of experience
Hello, I'm Rhoda Donnelly, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over three decades of experience. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of helping thousands of individuals and families navigate life's challenges. I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Georgia in 1990 and have been blessed with a variety of interesting jobs which allowed me to work with children, adults, families, and elderly, including refugees, and the US military. I would be honored to collaborate with you to work towards your goals and achieve positive results. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to feel heard and understood. We will work to find solutions so you can achieve greater peace and power.
Our first session will primarily be getting to know each other and setting some goals for our time together.
I am a warm, compassionate person who will help you find the path to becoming your best self.
My primary focus is helping those who are struggling with anxiety, divorce, and parenting concerns. Telehealth is a great way to work with individual adults to keep things easy for you yet still be effective. I have also developed some great techniques for working with children and have a mobile play therapy office. This allows me to bring all of my equipment to your home and work with your child without distractions while the parents can look on from the mobile telehealth connection. I truly want to make your journey to a healthier and happier life as easy for you as possible -- no traffic or parking headaches, and less time spent on the appointment overall.
CBT and Cognitive Processing are integrated in almost all of my techniques.
I work with families to untangle their situations, improve communication and understanding, so they can relax in the family and achieve their goals outside of the home.
Since Play is the first language of childhood, Play Therapy including Sand Tray work is the best approach to helping a child work through their emotions and heal from trauma. I also use puppets, story telling, and acitivities to help children understand themselves and develop coping skills.
This is an excellent method to help the client develop their own answers to their concerns.
