Welcome to Grow Therapy My name is Tania Fernandez I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience. I received my Masters from Barry University and have been practicing ever since. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My counseling style is empathetic, and client centered. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect but most importantly I pride myself on demonstrating compassion and sensitivity to the needs of others.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 10 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I've been using ACT therapy for the past 10 years. It's helped my clients change their relationship with their thoughts and feelings. We will use ACT to learn to accept your thoughts and feelings, embrace the present and live by your values.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counseling method that I've been using for some time to help clients resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities. I assist them in finding their internal motivations to help change their behaviors.

Mind-body approach

I've been using Mind-Body therapy for some time now with my clients. Interventions focus on calming your mind, improving focus, enhancing decision-making capacity, resolving conflict and managing stress.
