Hi. My name is San Juanita Diaz. You can call me Janie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I have 26 years of experience provisioning counseling services to individuals, families, and groups. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance. My experience includes: 15 years of providing counseling services to families involved with Child Protective Services, 5 years of working in nursing homes, and working in a variety of outpatient settings. My goal is to provide client centered therapy services based on clients individual therapy needs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an information gathering intake session. We will talk about counseling guidelines, your background, what brings you to therapy, any concerns, and your Treatment goals. My style is conversational so think of it like having a conversation with another person. Please feel free to ask any questions at anytime and do not feel obligated to talk about things you are not ready to address.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have strengthened my counseling and clinical skills through years of direct counseling experience working in a variety of settings addressing different issues. I am always in the process of learning. Feedback that I have received from clients is that I am a good listener. My goal from the start of sessions is to build rapport, trust, and a therapeutic alliance.
