New to Grow
Hello, my name is Bayley Malicki. Over the past few years, I have worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I am now independently licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Prior to deciding to be a therapist, I was a School Counselor for seven years in Indiana, Hawaii, and Ohio. I have experience working with children, adolescents, couples, and adults, and I truly enjoy helping people identify their strengths and work toward their personal goals. I believe that everyone already has the answers they are searching for within themselves. My role is to provide a non-judgmental, genuine, and empathetic space where those answers can be explored, uncovered, and put into action.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Counseling doesn’t have to be intimidating or uncomfortable. It’s really about human connection and having a space where you feel safe enough to share your story. I provide a welcoming environment where clients can talk openly about what’s going on in their lives, and we work together to reach goals that feel realistic and meaningful. In the first session we will introduce ourselves, cover confidentiality, any past experiences with counseling/previous diagnosis, and you can share expectations that you have for counseling. I really hope to better understand your world.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I feel honored to be trusted by those I come in contact with. My philosophy on counseling is rooted in the ocean. "Life ebbs and surges between calm seas and crashing waves, and no one is meant to sail them alone. Strength lives not in solitary survival, but in trusting the hands that reach for us and accepting the lifeboat when it appears." There will always be times when we need to lean on others and that is not weakness, but resiliency. The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with all ages navigating difficult circumstances or life transitions and seeking growth, healing, and positive change. Through collaboration, partnership, and mutual effort, we will work together on how best to reach your goals. If interested in EMDR: there are 8 phases and we will take time to build rapport and cover psychoeducation before starting the phases. EMDR strengthening skills can be taught without starting the 8 phases.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can create change in a person's life by identifying unhelpful thoughts and restructuring them in a more balanced way. Thinking patterns influence feelings and behaviors. By breaking this cycle each part becomes more supportive instead of reinforcing distress.
Couples Counseling
I have worked with couples prior to marriage, during difficult times in a marriage, and to navigate separation, divorce, and co-parenting. Increased communication and understanding can lead to better teamwork, connection, and growth.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) alleviates symptoms associated with traumatic memories by memory reprocessing that taps into the body's inherent ability to move towards health and healing. This therapy will introduce bilateral stimulation in different forms (eye movements, tapping, tones, etc.).
