LMFT, 16 years of experience
The last four years have been challenging foor all of us. COVID came into our lives and altered the way we lived and worked. Many of us spent possibly a year or two in partial isolation, seeing only our closest friends and family members. Now, it is 2025 and we are wanting to get our old style lives back, but this transition has been difficult to accomplish. So far, 2025 has not been a peaceful year. You may believe you have not grown in the past 2-3 years, lost confidence and become more anxious. My goal is to assist you in believing in yourself again. Your negative self talk needs to be replaced with positive affirmations, thoughts and actions. Anxiety, both social and life skill focused, along with depression, loss of self confidence or self esteem, and not understanding how these negative beliefs began. Many of us have anger over lost time, along with irritation. Now, as you look in the mirror, you want to begin to be the brave person you once were. You want to be social, travel and feel the joy again that life used to offer. My work and yours also, is to help you find your confidence to begin the life you thought you lost. Please feel free to contact me so we can begin your new journey.
Our first session will be me letting you know that this is a process that may take some time. I would like to have a conversation with you and helping you to feel comfortable. I am hoping that you will tell me why you called and what you would like to achieve. You have taken the first step when you called,
I enjoy working with people who are looking at life changes or transitions. These changes can cause enxiety foremost. There are two ways of looking at anxiety: one is with fear, the other is excitement. With belief in yourself, excitement can replace the anxiety.. Therapy/counseling is serious work, but I hope to allow some humor. in our sessions.
When entering a therapeutic relationship, the client will be both nervous and excitied. Not knowing what to expect,; one of my goals is to help you feel comfortable to share your problems and goals with me. I enjoy working with a client who is willing to be open and honest as to what their needs are. I believe we will be entering a therapeutic relationship which will consist of trust and empathy. When this happens, growth and change can occur.
I find it hard to list one treatment method. Every client has different needs and concerns. I do begin with narrative therapy as everyone does have a story and often no one to listen them. In addition, I do use CBT, Solution Focused therapy and psychodynamic methods
