I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor in Texas with more than 23 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults. With a doctorate in developmental psychology, I bring both expertise and a down-to-earth approach to helping people find clarity and direction when life feels overwhelming. Originally from the Midwest, I’ve called Texas home for three decades, where I enjoy family life, yoga, travel, and the challenge of keeping up with too many pets. I bring warmth, experience, and a touch of humor to therapy, walking alongside clients as they navigate growth and change with compassion and perspective.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where we’ll gently explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. This conversation will help us determine whether we’re a good fit and give you the space to ask any questions you may have.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My style is compassionate and direct, with a touch of humor to make you feel at ease. People find my approach beneficial because I focus on helping make lasting life changes. I look at the big picture and focus on the next step to make change possible. My approach as a therapist is rooted in empathy and collaboration. I prefer a holistic approach and utilize the following evidence-based techniques: person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, and mindfulness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Therapy is for people who seek to understand themselves, embrace our human capacity to learn from the past, and move forward with clarity and possibility.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is like a superpower that helps you feel better when you're sad, especially if you are struggling with depression. It works because it knows that our thoughts, feelings, how our bodies feel, and what we do are all connected. So, if you're having a tough time with an issue, CBT can help you change your thoughts and make you feel better.

Eclectic

Eclectic therapy is customized based on your personality, challenges, and goals. This flexible method draws from approaches like CBT and mindfulness, adapting as your needs evolve. This consists of combining different strategies. Eclectic therapy provides a client-centered path to emotional, cognitive, and behavioral well-being. Embrace your journey!

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care recognizes the impact of past trauma on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. The goal is to build resilience, foster self-awareness, and support your well-being with compassion and care.
